Kees Pieters (1963) is responsible for the innovation policy and innovation infrastructure in the agrifood domain at the department of Economic Affairs of the Dutch Province of Gelderland since 2014. In this role, Kees has always been involved with the ecosystem programming organization Foodvalley NL. Recently, he also became account manager of the newly founded OnePlanet Research Center, a Dutch-Belgium initiative for chip and digital technology in the field of agrifood and health. Now, Kees is also coordinating the agrifood pillar of Gelderland’s circular economy program, which focuses on protein transition, food waste reduction and valorization of side streams. Before all this, Kees was active as program manager for the horticulture program Greenport Gelderland and for the rural development program for the Province of Gelderland.
