Roeland Allewijn is CDO (Chief Data Officer) of Rijkswaterstaat (Ministry of Water and Infrastructure) in the Netherlands and held the position of Director Water until recently. Roeland was initiator and booster of the National program for Water and Climate (NKWK). He brought together the majority of the Dutch water sector (industry, academia and companies) to join their efforts to advance the development of innovative solutions related to water management and climate change. In his current role as CDO of Rijkswaterstaat he is chairman of BEGOOD, an ecosystem to generate opportunities in open data for a smarter society.
